Job Applicants

An applicant comes to the restaurant today for an interview. I ask him about his employment history and it turns out that, up until last week, he worked at Trattoria Mangia which is only one block away from Bogota Bistro.
I ask him why he's no longer working there.

"Oh, I had a problem with the owner and so I left."
"You had a problem with the owner or did he have a problem with you?" I ask him.
"Both," he says to me.
He goes on to tell me some story which didn't make any sense to me about a delivery guy and being left alone in the kitchen. "I got angry so I quit," he says.

There was a defiant grin on his face which quickly disappeared upon my next question.

"So, you had a problem with the owner and you decided to quit? Is that your way of getting even with him or of teaching him a lesson? If you get angry with me, is that what you're going to do also? Quit?"
"No," he answered defensively. "Besides, the owner there and I have since spoken and everything is okay now between us."
"So, why don't you want to go back there."
"No. I just don't want to."

"Okay. Well, thank you for your time. We have your number and we'll call you if a position opens up."
