Suggested to us by architect Larry Bogdanow, Kate Webb comes to us with not only an impressive resume and we also happen to think she's pretty cool too. That's Kate on the left with her friend Anne, also a designer, sandwiched between George and myself. I know she's going to hate this photo but trust me, she's a lot cuter in person. We love her vibe and I really feel that she "gets" what we are aiming for.

The Making of Bogota

George is:
(a) Working on the menu.
(b) Going over the numbers.
(c) Making a list of who needs to be called.
(d) Taking notes while listening to accountant.
(e) Reviewing various insurance options.
(f) All of the above.

The Lease, the Landlord and the Lawyer

All three met yesterday to finalize details of the space we're taking over for Bogota thus by the end of the week, we'll finally have our location. Finally means after a year of meeting with real estate agents, calling landlords, walking all over Fort Greene, Prospect Heights and Park Slope and even coming close to signing with one landlord for a space that eventually fell through. (Word has it that that particular space in Park Slope has been rented by the folks who brought you Mary's Fish Camp in the West Village).

So, if all goes well, we'll finally have our lease signed this week.
