Even though we won't be open yet, we've rented the 10'x10x space in front of Bogota and plan on just being there to meet and greet our friends and neighbors. It would be great if we were open and were able to sell some food but I suppose it isn't meant just yet. So, if you're not doing anything this Sunday, come by, say hi and enjoy the street festival. See some of what makes this such a cool neighborhood and why we're so excited to be here.

Having Lunch at Bogota

The Construction Crew At Rest
It's been difficult and challenging at times dealing with a construction crew that speaks very little English. The one thing they are able to say easily in English when I have a concern or issue is "No problem. No problem." It's not very reassuring because I'm not sure they even understand what I'm saying. With the exception of one guy, we don't even know their names other than the nicknames we've assigned them so as to be able to identify them to ourselves.
To their credit, I will say that they are hard workers and this restaurant is as much their creation as it is ours.

Restaurants That Blog

It was very exciting to come home home last night to find the issue in the mailbox. The story is featured on the front page: "Restaurateur Blogs." We excitedly turned to page 24 scanning the article for our name and there it was, along with the blog's web address: Bogota Bistro!
It's a kick to get press even though we're not even open yet. I will post the article tomorrow.
