Baby's First Labor Day
A number of restaurants are closing up shop for the Labor Day weekend. One particular restaurant I know of is actually closed for an entire week. I must admit the idea of closing for a week thrills me but the reality is that we will only be closing Monday and Tuesday.
I thought that tonight, Friday, would be slow as a result of the rush out of town by many New Yorkers as is the case around almost every 3 day weekend. Boy was I surprised. We had a really busy night tonight. All things considered, it surpassed my expectations. I continue to get great feedback from my customers, especially the ones eating here for the first time, about how much they love the food and the vibe. This is great news in light of the fact that our chef is away for a couple of weeks and our kitchen staff is working with a new guy who is helping out in our chef's absence.

The Store Sign Arrives
The sign has arrived and what a beautiful sign it is! It frames the businesses between us and NANA on the opposite end of the street, adding perfect symmetry to the block and will draw more attention and customers to us and away from the competition across the street. It hasn't been wired to light up yet but we've been told that that will happen tomorrow. It's going to look fierce at night, no doubt.
