Happy New Year

This will be our first New Year's Eve at Bogota and tonight could possibly be our busiest night ever. We've got over a dozen reservations scattered throughout the night to keep us busy all night long. We'll see what happens.

To all our fans, friends, and family of fans and supporters...thanks for making 2005 the Year of Bogota for us and for yourselves too. It's been a pleasure being here in Park Slope and serving you the great food that we've committed ourselves to making.

Happy New Year. If we don't see you tonight at Bogota, we'll see you Wednesday, January 4th when we re-open.

Bogota: Another Review

Click here for a recent review of Bogota Bistro.

"There are constantly new things opening up on Fifth Avenue in Park Slope - innovative restaurants, tons of clothing shops, great boutiques, really fun bars.

Bogota Bistro is a fairly recent addition to the restaurant scene - owned by a Colombian and Costa Rican, the bar is very well-stocked with many different flavors of rum and the mojitos are appropriately strong and minty. I recently celebrated a friend's 30th birthday there and we stuffed ourselves full for a very reasonable amount of money. In fact, we all took home leftovers.

After sharing apps of chicken and potato empanadas, shrimp ceviche and a very filling chicken quesadilla, we moved on to delicious catfish tacos, shrimp tacos and a
refreshing incarnation of roasted chicken with beans and rice. Sides of crisp
tostones and melt-in-your-mouth maduros crowded our table and we kept the drinks flowing. Good times all around."

Thoughts on my last job

I worked for 15 years at a law firm here in New York working in several different positions before finally deciding to open up Bogota and "to hell with it" to the law firm. It was a major risk-quitting a job which I held for so long, with benefits, unlimited sick days, 10 personal days, 6 weeks vacation along with a somewhat decent salary.

That was on July 5th of this year.

Someone asked last night at Bogota if there was anything I missed about that job.

I didn't even have to think about it. "Nothing. I don't miss anything about that job. No, wait. What I really miss is the high speed photocopier and printer I had access too. Other than that, I don't miss anything about that job."

"Wow!!!

My family and I had dinner there last night and I have to say it was the best meal we've had in park slope in a long time. from the empanadas (of which we had one of each) to the tortilla soup, the coffee crusted steak, and even the fried cheesecake everything was wonderful. antonio the waiter was great, the place looks and feels comfortable, and the mojitos were delicious.you guys have done a great job. i know we will be back and become loyal customers. keep up the good work.
