Charanga Cakewalk at Bowery Ballroom

I discovered Charanga Cakewalk while cruising through the iTunes Store one night and fell in love with their music. It has become part of the soundtrack of my life during the past year in addition to being the most played music in my iTunes, in the car and in my home. I associate their music with the opening up of Bogota Bistro.

I've described Charanga's music this way: cool, junky, jazzy, funky, chill and rooted in latin tradition. If I were a musician, Charanga Cakewalk is one band I'd fantasize jamming with.

I saw them last night at the Bowery Ballroom opening up for another amazing singer who I only discovered last night-- Lila Downs. The concert was a lot of fun.

Running a restaurant at this point in the venture leaves very little time for any kind of fun. I definitely need more fun. We both do.
