Random Stream of Conscience Thoughts Today...

Random Thoughts:

1. Has anyone written a book on how to handle the transition from being an employee for a great part of your life, working for someone else, by their hours, their rules, their deadlines, their policies, to being your own boss practically overnight??

2. Owning a restaurant means living in a world that's very separate and isolated from the world at large. If it weren't for Google News, I'd have absolutely no clue of what was happening in the world.

3. I often wonder what it could be like or might be like if this restaurant were to continue being very successful. How will my life change? Will I get to own a really nice home in a great place rather than continue living in my little studio in downtown Brooklyn some day? I would love to move from where I'm living into a nicer place.

4. I wonder if children are a part of my future.
5. I wonder if I'll ever own a real estate portfolio.
6. I imagine the day the restaurant are finally rid of the debt incurred to open this restaurant.
7. I wonder what my next round of employees might look like.
8. I wonder how old I'll be before I can be able to enjoy the fruits of my labor (which means, NO MORE WORKING!!!).

9. Believe it or not, there are days I actually enjoy being at work. Like tonight for instance. Tonight, for the most part, went smoothly. There were very few customer issues. I felt I accomodated everyone's needs tonight. They chose to spend their evening here and eat our food and enjoy some drinks. I made certain everyone left happy. Tonight went smoothly. I had some really good regulars here tonight and I got to interact with new people too.
